NHS Westminster is the local branch of the NHS responsible for health services in your area.

GPs

Your local GP surgery provides a range of services including general medical advice and treatment: prescriptions; referral to a specialist; jabs and tests (such as cervical smear tests, blood tests or immunisation).

Dentists

Dentists provide regular check ups on your teeth and gums. Part of their work involves teaching people to look after their teeth and gums in order to prevent problems. Dental practices can take private and NHS patients, and most practices take a mixture of both.

Opticians

Generally, opticians carry out tests on your eyes in order to check the quality of your sight and look for signs of disease, which may need treatment from a doctor or eye surgeon, such as diabetes and glaucoma.

Pharmacies

Your local pharmacist can advise you on a range of medicines and remedies for everyday illnesses.

Accident & Emergency

If you have a condition that requires; immediate attention or stitches, had an accident which may require an X-ray, are suffering from chest or severe pain elsewhere or breathlessness you should go straight to your nearest A&E.
