Jobseeker Direct is a quick and easy phone service which keeps you in touch with the latest job vacancies and helps you find the job that's right for you. Once you find a job you're interested in, Jobseeker direct will tell you how to apply. They'll send you an application form and, where possible, ring the Employer there and then to arrange an interview.

This service is available to anyone who is looking for work, and the lines are open weekdays 8.00am - 6.00pm, and Saturdays 9.00am - 1.00pm. All calls are charged at local rates. In order to speed up the search carried out by the operators, it would be helpful if you had the following information ready when you ring: full address, National Insurance number, date of birth and vacancy job reference.

You can search for a course, get help and advice on childcare, talk to an advisor on the learning advice line, get ideas for courses or careers. If you're 20 or over, and don't have many qualifications (fewer than 5 GCSEs or an NVQ level 2), LearnDirect advisors can put you straight through to nextstep, your local learning and work information and advice service, who can advise what services are available to you. CETRA, a project of the Migrants Resource Centre, provides information, advice and guidance to migrants, asylum seekers and refugees on learning and employment opportunities.
Migrants Resource Centre works with and for migrants and refugees. It provides: courses in English and computing; general advice with specialists working in immigration; opportunities for volunteering; crèche provision for students and others on a drop-in basis and a voice for migrants and refugees in the wider community.
