The Centre provides a range of services to homeless people, refugees, asylum-seekers & people in insecure or inappropriate accommodation. All services are within the one site. These include: The Drop-in Project focusing on the prevention of homelessness amongst young people aged 16-25; The Family Day Centre providing a safe play space, advice & support & a crèche facility to homeless families, refugees & families in temporary, insecure or inappropriate accommodation with children under 4; The Education Project providing ESOL & Basic Skills training, IT training (up to IBT), online learning & vocational guidance to homeless young people, homeless parents, refugees & the migrant community; The Medical Surgery offering drop-in GP and nurse, and counselling services to homeless people; The Horseferry Road Hostel an 8-bed, low-support unit for homeless people in recovery from substance misuse problems; and The Centre Hostel a 32-bed hostel for homeless young people & young people leaving care.

Carers Network Westminster (CNW) provides individual support to carers, appropriate information and advice, guidance on carers’ assessments and options for having a break. CNW runs local carers support groups and a range of activities and events for carers.

Chelsea College of Art and Design offers a range of full and part time courses in SW1. The college’s expertise lies in fine art, graphic design communication, interior and spatial design, textile design and research into the history and theory of visual and multimedia cultures.
As well as degree courses, an extensive range of short courses run throughout the year, including an introduction to painting and drawing, interior design, how to take better photographs, hand knitting and garden design.

This programme works to improve the quality of life for children from birth through to 5 years of age and their families within the Sure Start South Westminster catchment area.

The programme enables families to access:

  • Enhanced healthcare services, including advice about child health and development.
  • Support for children with special needs, including access to specialist services.
  • Family support delivered directly in the home.

Westminster City Council’s Children’s Information Service offers free, impartial information and guidance on children and young peoples services in the City of Westminster.
This includes Nurseries, childminders, out of school hours clubs, activities for children and young people, help with childcare costs, starting a career in childcare, and assistance with returning to work and training. City Guardians (Westminster City Council)  

City Guardians help to make public areas safer and cleaner by patrolling the streets. They help to improve public confidence and safety by showing that public areas are cared for. Working with the police and other council staff, their visible presence can help reduce crime. CivicWatch is an initiative that brings together the Council, the Police and a range of other partners to respond to local issues in neighbourhoods. Contact the Elderly aims to alleviate the loneliness often felt by very elderly and frail people, who have no or little support from friends and family. Volunteer drivers will use their own car to pick up the same elderly people one Sunday afternoon a month and take them to a volunteer host home for an afternoon tea party. The group consists of 8 - 10 elderly people, 4 - 5 drivers and 10 - 12 hosts. It is the same group that meets every month.
