Jobcentre Plus focuses on job finding services and skills training to people of working age, and a vacancy filling service to employers. People of Working Age can also claim benefits through Jobcentre Plus. Programmes include Work Based Learning for Adults and the New Deal. Specialist Advisors can also help lone parents and sick or disabled people

Jobseeker Direct is a quick and easy phone service which keeps you in touch with the latest job vacancies and helps you find the job that’s right for you. Once you find a job you're interested in, Jobseeker direct will tell you how to apply. They’ll send you an application form and, where possible, ring the Employer there and then to arrange an interview.
This service is available to anyone who is looking for work, and the lines are open weekdays 8.00am - 6.00pm, and Saturdays 9.00am - 1.00pm. All calls are charged at local rates.
In order to speed up the search carried out by the operators, it would be helpful if you had the following information ready when you ring: full address, National Insurance number, date of birth and vacancy job reference.
