On this website, you will find impartial advice on courses, careers, funding and childcare. You can search for a course, get help and advice on childcare, talk to an advisor on the learning advice line, get ideas for courses or careers.
If you’re 20 or over, and don’t have many qualifications (fewer than 5 GCSEs or an NVQ level 2), LearnDirect advisors can put you straight through to nextstep, your local learning and work information and advice service, who can advise what services are available to you. You’ll also receive appropriate support if you have learning disabilities or if English isn’t your first language.

The Westminster Learning Disability Partnership is a joint health and social care partnership providing assessment and support to people with learning disabilities and their families.

Anyone can join and use Westminster Libraries for free. They offer:

  • Many books, CDs, DVDs, language courses and talking books.
  • Computer use including internet access and office. To book please call 020 7641 1300
  • Many activities for children, especially in the summer holidays
  • On-line services, accessible from home - reservations, renewals and free access to subscription websites.

The Lindley Library holds the historical collections and most of the Royal Horticultural Society’s art collection. It has over 50,000 volumes covering a wide range of subjects including garden history, flower arrangement and botanical art. It is open to both RHS members and the general public. London Fire Brigade is offering free home fire safety checks to vulnerable people in London as part of its ‘Be Safe & Sound’ campaign, installing free 10-year smoke alarms where needed.
