Tenants and Residents Associations

There are numerous Tenant and Residents Associations across SW1, formed by residents living in the same block, estate or street coming together to represent their mutual interests. Some represent council estates (managed by CityWest Homes), some housing association properties, and some represent people who own or rent properties in the same street or local area.

If you would like to know more about Tenants and Residents Associations in your area please contact WFRA - Tel: 020 7641 4425, wfra@cwh.org.uk
For more information about Tenants and Residents Associations for CityWest Homes (council owned properties) please visit the CityWest Homes website.
The CityWest Homes website also sets out other ways you can get involved and have a say about the services that CityWest Homes provides.

Thorney Island Society

39 Westminster Mansions, Great Smith Street, SW1P 3BP
The Thorney Island Society takes its name from the island in the Thames which was once no more than a dense thicket upon which Westminster Abbey was first built. It is a conservation and amenity group founded in 1985 - its objective being to save the library erected in Great Smith Street in 1893. Today it continues to look after the interests of both residents and businesses within the area and acts as 'watch dog' on local planning and development issues. The Society is also concerned about the extension of conservation boundaries and the scale and aesthetics of building programmes within its remit.
