Victoria Tower Gardens South of the
Houses of Parliament is a beautiful
large grassy park, with raised seating
overlooking the Thames and a small
children’s playground. The gothic style
Buxton Memorial in Victoria Tower
Gardens commemorates the
emancipation of slaves following the 1833 Slavery Abolition
Act. The Gardens extend south of Lambeth Bridge, offering
a pleasant route between Westminster and Tate Britain.
Riverside Walk Gardens is based on a series of curved and
stepped terraces, creatively reflecting the movement of the
Thames; it is also home to Henry Moore’s ‘Locking Piece’
sculpture. The Thames Path continues between Vauxhall and
Chelsea Bridges, taking in a beautiful stretch of the Thames,
through the peaceful Pimlico Gardens. read less
