Westminster City Council’s Family Information Service (formerly the Children’s Information Service) offers free, impartial information and guidance on children and young people’s services in the City of Westminster. This includes Nurseries, childminders, out of school hour’s clubs, activities for children and young people, help with childcare costs, starting a career in childcare, and assistance with returning to work and training. The Pimlico Toy Library offers an environment where young children can learn to play and develop important life skills. Parents are encouraged to take part and the informal atmosphere provides an opportunity for families to learn to interact and play together.
Play-sessions are run throughout the year in a clean, bright and safe space by experienced Toy Librarians. Children develop a number of life skills including:
The Toy Library stocks a large collection of toys and games that can be loaned out to local families, including bikes, tents and slides. There are also various activity sessions during school holidays such as music workshops, outings and Christmas celebrations.

Pippa’s Poppets offers weekly 40 minute classes that introduce small children from 4 months to 3 years old to music in a fun and entertaining way. Sing along to original and fabulous songs whilst shaking shakers, tapping sticks, banging drums and ringing bells. Created by award-winning composer Pippa Cleary, the programme uses home-made props and instruments to bring parents and children together through educational and interactive learning.
